When our parents passed, my sister and I had to sell the family home. I've been a real estate investor for over 40 years, and my sister is a prominent R.E. agent in La Jolla, so I was quite surprised when she suggested that we use LJ to list the home. She didn't even know the guy, but his discount commission along with his cancellation option almost required that we at least give him a try, and I'm glad we did.   
First, he listed the property in such a way that we immediately received multiple offers at higher prices than we'd even hoped for. I was all ready to accept a full price offer, but LJ asked if he could try to negotiate an even better deal for us, and he did just that - he got us an additional $5000 for our home. And this from a guy who was already saving us over $8000 in commissions.  
A week later, after the buyer's inspection, they requested that we do some repairs, which I was more than willing to do. But once again, LJ asked if he could try and negotiate it down, and once again he did, saving us yet another few thousand dollars.  All in all, I figure he put an extra $15,000 or so in our pockets on a $555k sale.  I later calculated that his commission was barely one-third of what he actually saved us, so we actually benefited more from his talents and efforts than he did.
So the guy is an excellent negotiator, but he's also honest, thorough, knowledgeable, professional, and he was always very responsive to my phone calls, texts, and emails, which is a big deal to me. On top of all that, he just happens to be pleasant and likeable too, which made the whole experience almost enjoyable at times. So other than his fees, there's nothing discount about him. He's the best of both worlds - a full-service broker at a discount price. But honestly, I think you'd have a hard time finding a better broker/agent at any price.

WOW! What an incredibly easy and painless home sale through LJ! This was only the 2nd time in 20 years that I sold a home so I really had no idea what I was doing.
